A man is said to have killed a friend and “went wild” in the neighborhood
CLAWSON, MI – A man is said to have shot and killed his friend, then caused a hubbub in a Clawson neighborhood over the weekend.
The body of a 34-year-old man was found at the suspect’s home in Clawson after police arrested him for causing unrest in the neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday, WXYZ Detroit Reports. This is the first homicide in Clawson since 2004.
The 37-year-old suspect allegedly knocked on his neighbor’s door around 11 p.m. Saturday, but was gone when the neighbor responded, the TV station reports. He then allegedly stole an American flag from someone’s porch and walked down the street until he found an unlocked door. With the flag draped over his shoulders, the suspect reportedly introduced himself to residents before grabbing a bottle of beer and throwing it at a woman. He hit her on the forehead and shattered; she was treated on the spot and is doing well.
The suspect then left the house, according to the report. He was apprehended by neighbors until the police arrived. Police arrested the suspect and searched his home where they found the body.
The suspect’s behavior was out of character, his neighbor Sean McGowan told WXYZ. “Something happened in this house that set him off on this crazy little rampage he’s had on the street here.”
The police did not release the names of the suspect or the victim. The suspect is expected to be brought to justice today, according to the report.
