It’s hard to avoid seeing mentions of Bennifer 2.0 these days, but Alex Rodriguez overcomes J. Lo in the best way he knows how: by going about business.
The former baseball player-turned-entrepreneur put his name – and his mug – behind a new line of men’s “makeup” in collaboration with men’s wellness site Hims.
Hims “Blur Stick” is touted as an “elegant and effective corrective stick specially formulated for men”. Packaged in a tube the size of a Chapstick, the Blur Stick rolls over your face to cover acne, dark circles, razor bumps and other skin blemishes. Formulated with ingredients like jojoba oil and aloe vera, it also helps cover and calm nicks and cuts from shaving.
A-Rod has never shied away from talking about skin care – his ex, Jennifer Lopez, said he uses products from his J. Lo Beauty line on himself – but the former athlete says that he struggled to find products designed specifically for men. .
The Blur Stick comes in eight shades, ranging from “clear” to “deep,” and the company says the shades can match most skin tones. The ingredients, meanwhile, help soothe and hydrate while providing fast, smooth coverage to quickly camouflage blemishes. As an athlete, Rodriguez says it was important that the concealer was not only moisturizing, but also resistant to perspiration; your acne and dark circles stay covered in the sun during the day, but the concealer easily wipes off with a face towel or cloth at night.
As the first investor in Hims (and sister site Hers, which coincidentally is currently promoting a collaboration with J. Lo), Rodriguez has worked with the team commercially, but this is his first collaboration on a product. of Things The Blur Stick is the newest addition to the Hims & Hers line of skin care products which also includes a selection of moisturizers, serums and supplements.
“Since I met the Hims & Hers team, it was clear to me that they were revolutionizing telehealth and direct-to-consumer products,” Rodriguez said in a press release. “As with other Hims & Hers products, accessibility and convenience have been at the heart of the development of the Blur Stick. For years, I’ve searched for something I can use to touch up a blemish or razor dent quickly and discreetly, and the Hims & Hers product development team has delivered it.
The Blur Stick costs $ 22 and is available for purchase now from the Hims website.
