LCSC Basketball DOLLAR AUCTION

Lewis-Clark Men’s Team will hold the annual auction for dollars fundraising at 5:15 p.m. this afternoon at the Lewiston Roundup. In the dollar auction, people with their backs to the public will decide on the time in which an item from the auction will be auctioned off. The duration of the auction, which is usually with music, will differ from 20 minutes to 90 minutes.

Every table will each have an emcee who will wear an official table number on their hands. If the item goes up for auction off, those at the table who wish to bid will hold a dollar bill. A runner then presents the table’s number and is announced by the auctioneer. When the auctioneer announces the number then the runner will collect one dollar from one bidder and then swiftly transfer towards the bidder who is next on the table. The auctioneer will be quick to remember the numbers in order to permit the payment from the dollars. If music stops and the person who flies the last dollar that was that a runner had collected when time ran out is the winner of an auction prize.
