Dave Bautista tried to “buy” happiness when he first rose to fame.
The wrestler-turned-actor confessed to wasting his money when he rose to fame.
He explained, “I wasn’t ready for this. I didn’t know how to deal with it. So I made all the bad cliché mistakes… I wasted all that money, and I could have done a lot. many things with that money.
“I could have helped people, I could have helped animals. But honestly, I was unhappy and just trying to buy happiness.”
Bautista rose to fame in WWE, before moving to Hollywood.
The 52-year-old actor has seen his profile skyrocket in recent years, but he thinks people still have a bad impression of him.
He told the November issue of Men’s Health UK magazine: “I realize what I look like. I joke and say I look like I got out of jail yesterday. But I do. I’m very into it. aware.
“That’s why I’m going to take an extra minute with someone to show them that I’m just not that guy. I may look like that guy, but I’m not that guy.”
Bautista has over a million followers on Twitter, but he admits to having an eventful relationship with social media.
And although the ‘Specter’ star has considered stepping away from the microblogging platform, he wants to fight for various social issues.
He said: “I wanted to get away from Twitter years ago, because it’s such a hostile place… but I saw what a bad political environment we got into.
“I stayed because I want to be an opposing voice to all these ****** who are here, who are racist and fanatic and who polarize our country. So I stayed to upset them.”
