Each “Who killed Sara?” Cast member
The Netflix Murder Mystery Who killed Sara? has been a huge success for the streaming platform since its first release in late March. This Mexican drama follows the Lazacanos, a criminal family involved in sex trafficking and murder, who may be responsible for the death of Sara Guzmán. He has it all: betrayal, murder, infidelity and forbidden love. It’s no wonder fans can’t stay away. With each season revealing more questions than answers, no one should be surprised if a season three is indeed on its way, aimed at answering all of these questions. After all, Season 2 was announced just five days after the Season 1 premiere. Who killed Sara? becoming Netflix’s most successful foreign language series in the United States, it would make sense for this Netflix telenovela to exist for a long time.
A little surprise about Who killed Sara? It’s not the outrageous plots or unexpected plot twists, but rather the success of such a show that few or no big names are attached to. And, although a show may not necessarily be need Hollywood’s best-known actors for success, it sure doesn’t hurt to have a fan favorite or two on a new TV series.
Alex Guzmán, Sara’s brother who embarks on a path of revenge against the Lazacons for the murder of his sister, is played by Manolo Cardona. And, unless you’ve seen a lot of Mexican dramas or watched her little stint on the drug crime TV show. Narcos, you wouldn’t recognize it immediately. But, her recognition – or lack of it – doesn’t affect her portrayal of Alex as angry, frustrated, and grieving. Like Mónica Marie Zorrilla from Variety noted: “This is the first time Cardona has entered the world stage, front and center, in a series that millions of people are watching.” And, despite his inexperience, his performance is powerful enough to draw fans in and present an engaging and spinning murder mystery.
