Loki Promo Confirms Marvel’s God Of Evil Is Gender Fluid
Calls for greater LGBTQ + representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been answered. A Disney + promo for the new Loki series revealed that the God of Evil is fluid between the sexes, addressing an important aspect of his identity that was present in the original comics.
As ComicBook.com reported, viewers might have missed the barrier-breaking detail. The preview quickly shows this over Loki’s Time Variance Authority (TVA) file, visible near the end of the clip. If you look closely, you will notice that Loki’s cock is labeled “Fluid”.
Years of speculation make this confirmation a surprise to Marvel comic fans. BD 2014, Loki: Agent of Asgard alluded to the non-binary identity of the god of mischief when their father, Odin, referred to Loki as “son” and “daughter.” The shapeshifter even appeared later in the 2008s. Thor: Book 3 comical like ‘Lady Loki’ after taking over a human body.
The trickster’s fluid gender status represents new possibilities for the future of queer characters at Marvel Studios. And the crossover of Loki’s non-binary identity from the comics to the Cinematic Universe was announced just in time for Pride Month.

It’s unclear how Marvel achieves this development in the new series. Loki’s gender identity has never been a topic of discussion in his other MCU appearances, such as Thor and Avengers: Endgame– maybe because he was a relatively minor character. This new six-episode Disney + series, with Loki as stand-alone, gives viewers plenty of time to learn more about everyone’s favorite god of mischief.
In the teasers, the character of Tom Hiddleston is taken to the headquarters of TVA, the organization that monitors time spent in Marvel films, and charged with “crimes against the sacred timeline.” Agent Mobius M. Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, gives Loki the choice to help fix the timeline or be erased from existence. The series will send Loki on an adventure through history to help keep the flow of time correct, but who knows what the well-known trickster has up his sleeve this time around.
Directed by Kate Herron from a screenplay by writer Michael Waldron (known for Rick and morty), the series is slated for release on Wednesday, June 9 on Disney +. Along with Owen Wilson, Hiddleston will be joined by other great actors like Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku.
