RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men’s and women’s tennis teams Vaqueros announced Monday that they will be hosting the UTRGV junior tennis camps starting October 4 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.

The sessions will run from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on October 4, 11, 18 and 25.

UTRGV tennis clinics will cost $ 76 for all four sessions and are open to all ages and skill levels for junior players. The sessions will be led by the female tennis head coach of the UTRGV Nott West and UTRGV men’s tennis head coach Nathan Robinson.

“We are very excited to develop tennis in the local community and share our facilities with junior tennis players from the Rio Grande Valley,” said Nott. “We are delighted to welcome new players to the game and to help promote this wonderful sport.”

“We are very pleased to welcome the junior clinics on our grounds and on our campus,” said Robinson. “’It’s a great way for us to get into the community and help develop tennis in the Rio Grande Valley. I can’t wait to see everyone there.”

The fields will be divided appropriately according to age and skill level. Clinics will focus on the application of appropriate education, technique, drills and scoring situations, depending on age and skill level.

Campers can register online at https://camps.jumpforward.com/utrgvwomenstennis and can contact Coach Nott at (858) 322-3171 or email [email protected] with any questions.

Camps and academies are open to all participants (limited only by number, age, grade level and / or gender). NCAA rules prohibit UTRGV Athletics Interest Representatives (boosters) who are not legally responsible for a potential student-athlete (grades 7-12) from providing expenses to attend a showcase, camp, or a clinic. Violations of this provision could result in the loss of NCAA eligibility for the prospective student-athlete.
