Penn State swimmers finish in top 50 at US Olympic trials on Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. – Penn State male swimmer Michel daly recorded the second-fastest time of his career in the 200 backstroke and finished 39th (2: 03.38) at the US Olympic Trials Thursday morning at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. In the 200 IM, Nittany Lion Hayden harlow finished 48th overall in the 200 IM (2: 06.97).
Daly takes seventh place thanks to his performance in the 400 IM on Sunday night and a 47th place in the 200 freestyle.
During the international Olympic qualifiers in Colombia, Nittany Lion Carlos Vasquez participated in two events representing Honduras. Vasquez was second in the 200 butterfly final (2: 03.84) and swam the 100 butterfly on Thursday.
Jake houck and Will Roberson will represent Penn State in the freestyle event at the 50 US Olympic Trials on Saturday, with prelims starting at 11 a.m. ET. Broadcast schedule and availability and streaming coverage are available here.
