The Daily Herald – Men’s Night Out for Prostate Cancer Awareness
This Saturday, September 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., up to 150 attendees will have the opportunity to receive information about prostate cancer, sip and mingle with others, enjoy an experience of private shopping as well as fitness. by an in-store barber at Kooyman.
According to Kooyman’s sales manager, Evencia Carty-Seabrookes, Kooyman, as a hardware store, aims to focus more on its main customers, who are mainly men: “We care about our customers and we want to continue to build a relationship with them. for the long term. It also includes thinking about issues that concern them, such as prostate cancer. In 2019 we ran a prostate cancer registration campaign with the Positive and Elektralytes foundations and we managed to collect over 100 registrations. With this success, we realized that our customers were open to receiving information about this cause and that is why ‘Men’s Night Out’ was created.
All men over the age of 40, who would like to receive more information about prostate cancer, are invited to register for the event. Registration is available online at Kooymanbv.com/events. This is limited to 150 guests, who will receive a free t-shirt, “but we welcome any men who want to hang out,” adds Carty-Seabrookes.
SMMC and CPS will be present for an informal panel discussion to discuss symptoms and early detection, and to answer any questions these gentlemen may have regarding prostate cancer to raise awareness of the disease. But there will be many other activities.
As Carty-Seabrookes explained, prostate cancer is a sensitive topic; the organizers want the gentlemen to feel comfortable and thoughtful, so there will be an in-store barbershop by Frank of MLB Barber Shop, to give the gentlemen a new shape and make them feel good about themselves.
The Blue Lounge will be the relaxing place for the men to sit, snack and mingle, with the Beer Bar by ILTT offering Blue Moon, Ginger Beer and Miller Lite, FIJI Water and Steaz Ice Tea and snacks from The Johnny Caker .
“We want to keep our gentlemen engaged, so we have special offers on power tools and demonstrations on certain products now that they will have the opportunity to browse our selection of products during a private event” – like shopping experience private. That’s not all, there will also be raffles and giveaways. Kooyman will raffle a Milwaukee and Makita power tool to two lucky winners, plus a spa package and Bonus Fun Miles.
