The Hoops Hoops to host the Louisiana Special Olympics on July 24
NEW ORLEANS –
The great partnership between the University of New Orleans and Special Olympics Louisiana will be on display in full on July 24 at the Lakefront Arena as the Privateers host their summer basketball camp between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
2021 will be the 11th year of hosting Special Olympic basketball camps at the UN.
“Our partnership with Louisiana Special Olympics is one of our most cherished and rewarding relationships,” said head coach Marc Slessinger. “We are motivated and encouraged by the athletes we are fortunate enough to work with. The long-standing relationships we have built with former athletes and their families make the experience even more special and we look forward to welcoming our friends to Lakefront Arena and the University of New Orleans. “
“Community service is one of the best aspects of a student-athlete,” said Kmani Doughty. “We are delighted to host an event with Special Olympics Louisiana.”
Participation is limited to the first 50 registered. To register, please click HERE.
Participants from the greater New Orleans area will range from juniors to middle-aged adults and the clinic offers exercise, skill development, agility, cardio and games. The number of participants continues to increase each season. “
