We took Viagra hoping to have the best sex ever – but ended up with broken penises, amputations and naked rampage

SOMETIMES Viagra users end up having extremely difficult luck.
This week, new research revealed that guys who take the erectile dysfunction drug are twice as likely to suffer from vision problems and even blindness.

Users have also reported hearing problems – including the late Hugh Hefner, who said he “would rather have sex than his hearing”, according to his former lovers.
But the Playboy mogul, who died aged 91 in 2017, isn’t the only one with Viagra issues.
One Briton said he had a permanent crease in his penis after taking the treatment, while others were left with painful priapism – long lasting painful erections.
Here, others reveal their most extreme problems.
Inflamed penis requiring amputation
A poor guy needed to have his penis amputated after taking Viagra.
Gentile Ramírez Polanía deliberately took too many drugs in an effort to impress his new girlfriend with his sexual prowess in 2013, according to reports.
But the Colombian, who was then in his sixties, ended up with a painful erection that lasted several days.
The doctors who treated him found Polanía’s penis inflamed, fractured and showing signs of gangrene.
Doctors said they had to amputate the limb to prevent the spread of tissue death.

Electrician Nat Thind suffered a month-long erection after taking Viagra in 2019.
Only 26 at the time, Nat ended up needing penis surgery.
When the operation failed, doctors spent three days trying to find a solution until Nat became naturally flaccid.
But then he found himself unable to get an erection.
“There’s no point in me being depressed about what happened,” he said at the time.
“I’ve even gotten to the point where I can see the fun side of what happened. I had a healthy sex life before and obviously that’s impossible for me now.”
Erectile dysfunction and Viagra use:
Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition, especially in older men.
It is estimated that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 will have it to some degree.
It is defined as the inability to get and keep an erection.
Viagra is available without a prescription in the UK – but should be taken with caution, after discussing with a doctor if you feel comfortable doing so, and at the recommended dose.
Pills like Viagra work by relaxing blood vessels – temporarily increasing blood flow to the penis, leading to an erection.
They usually get to work within 30-60 minutes of taking them, but Viagra, for example, can be taken up to four hours before sexual activity.
Since its debut in 1998, it has widely empowered millions of men to safely take control of their sex lives. But if taken in the wrong doses or if you don’t need it, it can cause problems, as these examples show.
Others were luckier, only enduring hours of agony instead of weeks.
Mike Dowdall took a Viagra pill to enhance a marathon sex session with his wife Amanda.
But hours later, the father-of-three’s penis was still ‘stretched out like a tent pole’.
“I was in agony and my penis was throbbing,” Mike said.
“After two showers – one lukewarm and one cold – it was still standing.
“I started to panic and the stress made it worse. Amanda got me an ice pack which helped for a while.”

Mike added: “An erection of this intensity that won’t go away is like someone stabbing glass in your eye over and over again.”
His horror erection didn’t end until 9am the next morning, with another 24 hours of pain afterwards.
“The Vision Turned Green”

Some who have decided to roll the dice and buy Viagra online have reported even stranger symptoms.
Jake Land was just 21 when he decided to try the pills while in Manchester.
“Within an hour of taking the pill, my vision started to turn green,” he said.
“It was like someone had put a filter on everything.
“Everything seemed blurry too and despite the effect of the drugs I felt like someone had kicked me really hard in the groin.”
After having sex three times with someone he met on a night out, he spent the next day suffering from flu-like symptoms.
Jack added: “I threw away the rest of the pills and will never take them again unless prescribed by a doctor.”
I had to miss work

John Browne had a similar bad time with the Viagra he bought online.
The Herefordshire-based chef suffered a ‘blinding’ headache and a hot feeling when he took the pill before a date.
“My heart was pounding, the headache was the worst I’ve ever had and I felt terrible.
“I ended up taking the next three days off.”

One guy even ended up breaking his penis after taking Viagra.
The unlucky dad’s erection didn’t go away after he had sex, then disaster struck the next morning when his child jumped on him for a hug.
According to the British Medical Journal case report, the 36-year-old developed “sudden severe pain” and was rushed to hospital.
A penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is struck with considerable force.
In this case, the father was taken in for surgery where a blood clot was drained and the tear in his penis was repaired.
The operation was successful and the patient was able to regain a normal erection.
Naked rampage

Some Viagra-related incidents just got weirder.
A tourist reportedly went wild naked at a Thai airport after taking too many pills in 2018.
New Yorker Steve Cho reportedly terrified other holidaymakers as he ran around the terminal, even throwing feces at staff.
The naked threat was later said to have told the officers who broke up his one-on-one riot that he had ‘taken too many sex drugs’ and he apologized for the outburst, agreeing to pay damages .

A statement from Phuket International Airport said Cho admitted to “taking too much Viagra”.
He was taken to the local police station before officers sent him to a nearby hospital for routine medical checks and psychiatric evaluation.
