When is “Stranger Things” coming back? Season 4 volume 2 release date
The still loyal fans of stranger things almost waited three full years to get another season of Netflix’s crossover horror nostalgia. And now that the long-awaited season has arrived with seven oversized episodes…it’s time to get back into waiting mode. This time, however, the wait won’t be as long. What is that sound you hear? Oh, that’s right stranger things fans collectively breathe a big sigh of relief.
In February, The Duffer Brothers revealed in a public letter that Season 4 of stranger things proved to be their most ambitious to date – and also constituted the biggest undertaking. “With nine scripts, over eight hundred pages, nearly two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice as long as any previous season, stranger things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding,” they wrote. “Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes. .”
The Duffers also revealed that the end of stranger things is in their sights. While they had too many stories left to wrap it all up in Season 4 – hence the oversizing of the season – things would wrap up with Season 5. Whenever that happened.
But let’s not speculate too much on that just yet. We still have Season 4 to finish and some monsters to see defeated.
Season 4, volume 2 of stranger things will debut on July 1 and will consist of only 2 episodes.
In that same letter, The Duffer Brothers revealed that two summer vacation weekends — Memorial Day weekend and July 4 — would mark big days for our friends in Hawkins, Indiana. “Volume one will be released May 27; volume two will be released five weeks later on July 1,” they wrote.
We know most of you will probably be browsing through these Volume 1 episodes in just a few days, but these five weeks give everything not obsessive but still in it. stranger things fans have plenty of time to skim through those lengthy first seven episodes, just in time for the even longer final two episodes.
Yes, it’s true: longer. While most Season 4, Volume 1 episodes are around 1 hour and 15 minutes long (stuffed by any TV metric), Episode 7 lands at 1 hour and 38 minutes.
The two episodes of volume 2 will keep this same energy: episode 8 will last 1h25, and the finale of episode 9 will last 2h30.
So make sure you’re caught up and ready to lock yourself in for even more stranger things— because these run times will get a hold of your personal schedule.
